Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter

CRCC No. 15759/Q of the 18th February 1938, submitting an amended

statement of the charges due in respect of assistance given to

the Hong Kong Government in connection with the nousing and

maintenance of the Shanghai Refugees.

I accept this statement totalling £147

payment of this sum will be made to the Military Authorities

on receipt of the total sun due to the Hong Kong Government by

H.M's Government.

I am greatly indebted to Lieutenant Colonel C.H. Geake,

R.A.C.C. for the trouble he took in investigating my queries on

the original statement submitted and in making the necessary adjustments.
